Contemporary Swiss History in Pictures

Main prize in Swiss Pres Photo 07: Installation on the Aletsch Glacier to highlight the vulnerability of the melting glaciers. Organized by Greenpeace in collaboration with the US artist Spencer Tunick, 18 August 2007.
The main prize, and 1st prize in the “Art and Culture” category, went to Michael Würtenberg from Zurich, and shows an installation organized by Greenpeace on the Aletsch Glacier in collaboration with the US artist Spencer Tunick.
Other winners included Bruno Voser, in the “Current Events” category, Christine Bärlocher (“Portrait”),Pierre Albouy (“Sport”), Michael Sieber (“Everyday and Environment”), and Sylvain Savolainen (“Foreign”).
As the partner of Swiss Press Photo, the Swiss National Museum will be exhibiting the winning pictures as well as a selection of other images depicting key events of 2007.
The SWISS PRESS PHOTO 07 exhibition runs from 1 March to 27 April 2008 in the Forum of Swiss History, Schwyz, from 30 April to 4 May in the Salon du Livre, Geneva, and from 22 August to 4 October in the Käfigturm, Bern.
The “Swiss Press Photo 07“ yearbook is published by Benteli-Verlag in English, German and French. Copies are available from the museum shop, at larger kiosks and in bookshops. Price CHF 15. ISBN 978-3-7165-1491-7.
